On the sidewalks of urban America, the war in Iraq rarely makes itself known. We may stumble upon it in headlines displayed from a newspaper box, or a “Support Our Troops” placard tucked in front of curtains in a window.  For the most part it is the bumper sticker that reveals any opposition to the war at all, and yet there are other images scattered throughout the city that are made in desperation or by coincidence. These three photos were all shot in Boston over the last year or so.
